A Herndon mailing address does not necessarily mean the property is located within the incorporated Town of Herndon.
That distinction matters because the Town maintains its own Building Inspections division and issues its own electrical permits.
For properties located outside Town limits but within Fairfax County, the applicable Fairfax County permitting process applies instead.
The Town of Herndon issues electrical trade permits through its Building Inspections division.
The Town's current published Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing instructions require an Electrical Permit Application and supporting information for proposed electrical work. When an electrical permit is not associated with a separate building permit, the Town's published instructions currently call for a plan showing the proposed work.
Herndon-addressed properties outside incorporated Town limits may instead follow Fairfax County Land Development Services requirements, including its PLUS permitting system for applicable EV charging circuits.

Herndon contains established residential areas as well as newer construction. Existing electrical equipment should be evaluated based on condition, compatibility and available capacity rather than the age of the home alone.

Unused breaker spaces do not automatically mean enough electrical capacity is available for another substantial continuous load.

The Town of Herndon maintains designated Historic Districts with a Historic District Review Board responsible for exterior alterations, additions, new construction and demolition within the Historic District Overlay.
Most exterior changes to properties within the Historic District require review before work begins, although Town staff determines whether a proposed modification is exempt, eligible for staff review or requires Historic District Review Board review.
For EV charging, an installation located entirely inside a private garage can present a different review situation from visible exterior equipment, conduit, raceway, disconnects or other exterior components.
If a property is actually within the Historic District and exterior work is proposed, the applicable Town review should be confirmed before installation.

Auto Charge Pros is a Tesla Certified Installer providing Tesla Wall Connector and Universal Wall Connector installation throughout Herndon and Northern Virginia.
We evaluate available electrical capacity, determine the appropriate dedicated circuit, plan the wiring route and position the Wall Connector around the vehicle's normal parking location and cable reach.
Compatible Tesla installations may also support reduced charging output, multiple Wall Connectors with power sharing and compatible power-management solutions.

10 / installation process
Confirm whether the property is inside the Town of Herndon or under Fairfax County jurisdiction, then review service rating, panel condition, breaker space and household demand.
Determine an appropriate charging output and complete the applicable load evaluation when needed.
Plan the circuit through finished or unfinished areas and identify expected access.
Consider normal parking position, charge-port location, cable reach and garage operation.
Nick installs the dedicated circuit and hardwired charger or approved EV receptacle, configures supported settings and tests the equipment.
Coordinate the applicable Town of Herndon or Fairfax County permit and inspection process and complete included restoration.
11 / workmanship
The charger is only the visible portion of the installation. When practical, Auto Charge Pros prefers concealed wiring through accessible framing, unfinished areas, ceilings or basements rather than automatically running exposed conduit across finished surfaces.
If drywall access is necessary, expected openings are discussed before installation whenever practical. Where included in the written estimate, removed drywall can be fastened back after the required electrical work and inspection. Full finishing—including tape, compound and sanding—is available separately when requested.
When a charger project also identifies another need, Auto Charge Pros provides residential electrical services, including electrical troubleshooting and panel work when actually required.
